Planning on carving a pumpkin for Halloween? After you're done scooping and scraping out the inner flesh and pulp from your pumpkin, make the most of your jack-o'-lantern leftovers by using the pumpkin meat and seeds in the kitchen and for your beauty regimen.

After steaming with boiling water and running it through the food processor, the leftover pumpkin flesh can be stored in the freezer in plastic bags and used for recipes that call for pumpkin purée. With a little stock and seasoning, you can easily make some steaming pumpkin soup. Or if you're craving something sweet, you can make a pumpkin milkshake or some pumpkin pancakes the next day.

Pumpkin seeds are easy to cook and can be prepared using the oven, microwave, or stovetop. And if you need to give your face a pick-me-up after a night of partying and wearing loads of Halloween makeup, you can use the cooked pumpkin meat to give yourself a DIY pumpkin beauty facial.
